Participation – using TCATS

There are two ways you can participate in The Carrot and the Stick Project. You can use the various lists to block spam and provide feedback on any issues and/or problems you find so that we can make TCATS better.

Participation – Providing resources for TCATS

TCATS does not really need a helping hand but we are seeking clients. Our services are to download the raw email the Provider classifies as spam, sort that and pull the IP addresses that enhance our lists. Due to legal constraints we only provide this service for paying clients. We can and do provide a confidentiality contract that protects us and our clients.

If this is something that interest your company then please contact us. We require the company exploring this to use the botnet black to remove most of the spam that would otherwise be classified as new spam which would again have to download and process. We further suggest strongly that if this is of interest to your company that you use the non-mail server blacklist as well.

Participation – Cost

Our retainer fee is a little more than nominal, but very little more. For the average sized company [25,000-50,000 users] we require a $250.00 to 500.00 a month retainer to be paid monthly, quarterly or annually. This minimal fee is what we use to keep our servers running and our doors open and it is in the grand scheme of things, very little for having a company sift through your spam and provide you with the IP addresses for 85 to 90 percent of all your spam.

Participation – requirements

We will need a contract and your IP addresses for legal protections for us and for us to be able to process your spam into a viable list that will make our list more complete.
